چکیده

Separating oil-water mixtures is critical in a variety of practical applications, including the treatment industrial wastewater, oil spill cleanups, as well purification petroleum products. Among various methodologies that have been utilized, membranes are most attractive technology for separating emulsions. In recent years, selective wettability attracted particular attention separations. The membrane surfaces with hydrophilic and in-air oleophobic demonstrated enhanced effectiveness separations comparison underwater membranes. However, developing surface not trivial task. coating delamination process challenge when applying these Inspired by above, this study we utilize poly(ethylene glycol)diacrylate (PEGDA) 1H,1H,2H,2H-heptadecafluorodecyl acrylate (F-acrylate) to fabricate on filter. We methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane (MEMO) an adhesion promoter enhance filter demonstrates robust repellency preventing fouling. Utilizing filter, gravity-driven continuous surfactant-stabilized emulsions demonstrated. Finally, demonstrate can be reused multiple times upon rinsing further

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Separation of oil and water in oil spill recovery operations *

The separation of water from oil that is collected in any oil spill recovery operation is a continuing and necessary requirement during every stage of the effort. Its importance is reflected in the cost of transport and storage of large volumes of oily water, the salvage value of separated oil and the added labor costs associated with long-term recovery operations. This paper addresses the effe...

A self-cleaning underwater superoleophobic mesh for oil-water separation

Oil-water separation has recently become a global challenging task because of the frequent occurrence of oil spill accidents due to the offshore oil production and transportation, and there is an increasing demand for the development of effective and inexpensive approaches for the cleaning-up of the oily pollution in water system. In this study, a self-cleaning underwater superoleophobic mesh t...

Highly efficient and flexible electrospun carbon-silica nanofibrous membrane for ultrafast gravity-driven oil-water separation.

A novel free-standing and flexible electrospun carbon-silica composite nanofibrous membrane is newly introduced. The characterization results suggest that the electrospun composite nanofibers are constructed by carbon chains interpenetrated through a linear network of 3-dimensional SiO2. Thermogravimetric analysis indicates that the presence of insulating silica further improve the thermal resi...
